Fingerprint management

Each profile reports its own device to the sites it visits. SoftGlaze generates those values, keeps them consistent with each other and with the proxy, and lets you test the result before you rely on it.

What a profile reports, value by value

Two profiles generated on the same Windows computer, with every value shown. They come from the app’s real presets, and the ones that identify the machine differ.

Simulated profiles from the demo workspace. Exit IPs use documentation ranges.

  • Your computer’s OS by default

A Windows machine claiming to be a Mac is given away by its fonts and rendering, so new profiles match the host OS. Other operating systems are an explicit choice.

  • Versions that agree

The Chrome version in the user agent and Client Hints matches the Chromium build that actually launches.

  • Never your own core count

Generated CPU core counts skip the number your computer has, so a profile never repeats it.

  • Timezone and language from the proxy

At launch the profile looks up its proxy’s exit IP and sets timezone and language to match, unless you set them yourself.

  • Checked, not assumed

Leak Check tests a profile’s proxy and configuration and scores it out of 100, graded A to F. A live test then reads the real values from the running browser.

  • Two engines

Chromium profiles get every control shown here. Firefox profiles set proxy, user agent, locale, timezone and WebRTC off, and nothing more.

Every setting on the Fingerprint tab

New profiles get sensible defaults. These are the controls when you want to change them, grouped the way the profile editor groups them.

Chromium and Firefox engines

Pick the engine per profile. The Chrome version a profile reports always matches the build that actually launches.

fingerprint-chromium (optional)A patched Ungoogled-Chromium build that applies the fingerprint inside the browser instead of through injected scripts. Off by default. Present as another Chromium browser

Chromium profiles can present as Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi or Yandex. The user agent token, the Sec-CH-UA brand list and the navigator identity change to match, while TLS stays that of the real Chrome build underneath.

Operating systems

Profiles can report Windows, macOS, Linux or Android, with Android emulating a Pixel 7. New profiles use your computer’s OS by default, and the editor warns when a profile claims a different one, because fonts and rendering still come from the real machine.

Leak Check

Test a profile before you trust it with an account. Leak Check runs from the profile’s row in the Profiles table.

Configuration analysis

Tests the profile’s proxy and checks its fingerprint settings for contradictions. Each check passes, warns or fails, and together they give a trust score out of 100 with a grade from A to F. The profile doesn’t need to be running.

Live test

Reads the real navigator, timezone and WebRTC values from the profile’s open browser and scores those too. The profile must be running, so what you see is what a site sees.

The download page lists the SHA-256 checksum for each release and shows what to do when Windows SmartScreen warns about the installer, which is not code-signed yet.
